I’ve lived in Fort Collins for over four years now, but I’ve only recently moved closer to the downtown area. Old Town has always been one of my favorite places to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon, but now that I live so close, I spend more time than ever enjoying the area. This Sunday my mom drove up early to join me for brunch at one of my favorite local restaurants.
I figured I would break out the classic combination of anchors and stripes to celebrate the end of the season. As excited as I am for fall, I’m a little sad to see summer go. So long barbecues, pool days, farmers markets, and cold drinks. You will be missed.

There is something so whimsical about a tulle skirt! From short to midi, black to pink, feminine or edgy, all of these looks add playfulness and excitement to the outfit. I would love a pink midi tulle skirt, but to keep it from looking overly girlish and feminine, I would pair it with a motorcycle jacket or pointed-toe boots. Still, these images make it clear that there are endless styling possibilities.
At long last it is sweater weather in Colorado! As much as I love summer, I’ve been itching to break out some of my sweaters and winter wear, and I finally got my wish. I’m lucky to work in an office where the dress code is pretty casual, so my leather-slashed leggings are always acceptable for days like this. But I did dress it up a little by adding sweater that is more prim and proper.
Although it is hard to tell in the photos, it was actually raining when I ventured outside. But it’s the perfect sort of rain where it is enough to keep the grass and streets wet all day, but not so much that it will ruin your hair and leave you looking like a drowned rat!

I typically don’t wear a lot of bright colours. If you were to look into my wardrobe, you’d find that my colour spectrum goes from grey to black. Ok, so maybe I’m not that bad. But because today was especially overcast and dreary, I figured a splash of brightness would perk up my day.
I purchased these pointed-toe boots at DSW on a whim, and at the time I wasn’t too sure about them. But I’m glad I took the plunge and bought them, or else I would have regretted it endlessly (does anyone else relate to this Pin way too much?).
